I’m Tal, the owner of Cottage Lake Pilates.

Pilates has been part of my life for more than 25 years and has profoundly shaped the way I move, feel, and live. After a career in psychology and corporate facilitation, I followed my passion for movement and completed the Metropolitan Authentic Training (MAT) Pilates Program, studying with world-renowned master teacher Dorothee VanDewalle. I continue to teach at Metropolitan Pilates in Seattle while working with clients in my own studio.

My training is rooted in the classical Pilates method, following the lineage of Joseph Pilates through Romana Kryzanowska. I believe Pilates is for everybody and every body, and I enjoy helping clients build strength, improve mobility, and move with greater ease and confidence.

At Cottage Lake Pilates, I teach Classical Pilates from my private studio in the Cottage Lake area of Woodinville, Washington. The studio is equipped with authentic Gratz Pilates apparatus, and I offer personalized instruction in a welcoming, Scandinavian-inspired setting. Sessions are tailored to you, whether you’re new to Pilates, an experienced mover, an athlete, or someone working with physical limitations or returning to movement after an injury.

I look forward to welcoming you to the studio.

Pilates — A full-body exercise system

Pilates focuses on building strength, control, mobility, and coordination, with particular emphasis on the “powerhouse”—the muscles of the core, hips, and glutes that support everyday movement.

Pilates exercises are designed to strengthen and lengthen muscles within the same movement, integrating strength and flexibility rather than treating them as separate goals.

By strengthening the muscles that support the spine and improving body awareness, Pilates can support more efficient alignment and movement, helping reduce unnecessary strain through the neck, shoulders, and lower back.

The emphasis on concentration, controlled movement, and breath can also support psychological well-being.

Come try it out for yourself!
